Thank you Dave for taking the time to contact Sony Network Entertainment International, LLC (SNEI) for assistance with online access for UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception™. Please accept my deepest apologies for any frustration this has created. I am more then happy to help you get the online pass code redeemed so you can start enjoying the multi-player option offered in the game.
From what you have told me it sounds like the PlayStation®3 system is having a hard time connecting to the game server. This can be caused by a firewall or security setting on the network preventing or limiting the PS3™ system access to the game server.
I have outlined some troubleshooting to help resolve the issue. First we will get the online code redeemed. To redeem the code please sign in your PlayStation®Network account. Once sign in please select [Account Management] > [Redeem Codes], this will pull up the field to redeem the online code. The letters in this code are case sensitive. Ensure that you are entering letters in the same case as the code on the card.
If you receive an error when redeeming the codes please follow the information below.
• Check the voucher to make sure it is of the same regions as your PSN account. These must match, if they do not match we recommend talking to the retailer, or contacting the manufacture of the game to see if they can offer a code for your region.
•Please make sure your PlayStation®3 system has been activated for game content. You may do this through your PlayStation® Network icon by selecting Account Management > System Activation > PS3™ System, and then select Activate.
Once the system is activated, from the XrossMediaBar™ (XMB™) on your PlayStation®3 system, go to the PlayStation®Network (PSN) icon and sign into your PSN account. Select Account Management > Redeem Codes. Enter the code printed on the voucher. (Please note, the code is case sensitive, so be sure to enter the code exactly as it appears).
If you have followed all these steps, and the online pass is still unsuccessful, please respond to this email with the following information:
- Your Sign-In ID (registered PlayStation®Network email address):
- Your Online ID:
- Voucher Code Number(s):
If you are able to redeem the code, but unable to connect to the game server to start playing online. Please try the following steps.
• First disable your Media Server Connection. From your XrossMediaBar™ (XMB™), go to Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection, and disable.
Power-Cycle ALL Network Devices:
• Unplug ALL of your network devices and equipment, making sure all lights on the modem and router are turned off for two (2) full minutes. Certain VOIP modems (where your telephone is connected to your modem) may
have a battery installed. You will need to remove the battery in order for the modem to be completely turned
If you are still not able to connect to the game server.
• Make sure all ports are open in the firewall of your modem and/or router. This will give you the complete detailed instructions on the port we use for communication with the PlayStation®Network.
