Regina From Dino Crisis Is Used To More Dangerous, Reptilian Rampages​

In a different world Capcom’s Dino Crisis survival horror series would be just as popular as the Resident Evil franchise, but it’s unfortunately a promising property that’s been dormant for decades. The original Dino Crisis bears a lot in common with the first Resident Evil games and the series’ first protagonist, Regina, is incredibly capable in the face of danger. Zombies are a cumbersome threat, but they’re not in the same league as rampaging dinosaurs. Regina has taken out a Tyrannosaurus Rex, so she’d be a strong ally during any undead outbreak.

Dino Crisis is one of the few games I can remember actually completely beating when I was younger. My buddies and I used to all sit around the TV playing it all day long until we beat it. It is a survival horror game produced by Capcom in 1999. Dino Crisis plays very similar to a Resident Evil game, except it has dinosaurs instead of zombies. The story takes place on an island in 2009 where there is a secret laboratory conducting tests on weapons. The main character is Regina, who is sent to the island to capture the lead scientist who was supposed to be dead three years before this. Once they get to the island they discover that it is overrun by dinosaurs but have to continue their mission anyway. This was like playing Jurassic Park for a little kid. I loved every minute of it.

5) Dino Crisis​

Dino Crisis is a classic survival horror game that would benefit enormously from a full remake. It's been described as "Resident Evil with dinosaurs." The first game plays very much like vintage Resident Evil, and it would be ideal if it were given the same treatment as the Resident Evil PS1 games.


If it were fully redone, the Resident Evil 2 remake would most likely be the best option: A thorough remake from the ground up that preserves the majority of the game's gameplay and controls while adding some new elements.


Capcom even just spolied fans to see whether they wanted the new Dino Crisis, and with all of the recent Resident Evil remakes, this remake doesn't seem too far-fetched. The game studio may already be working on a new Dino Crisis, and it's only a question of time.
