Gears Of War Changed The Gaming Industry (94)-1​

The one that kicked off the franchise is still held in the highest regard for the series. Gears of War began the story of Marcus Fenix, fourteen years after Emergence Day, as he battles the evil Locust forces led by General RAAM. The game has become a pillar of the Xbox brand, with the likes of Halo and Forza before it.


The game's squad-based tactics were heavily praised by players and critics alike. The visuals also earned high marks, dubbed one of the best-looking games of the Xbox era. The multiplayer mode would also receive tons of praise, as it won "Best 360 Multiplayer Game" from IGN. Looking back, there is no doubt that Gears of War had a massive impact on the gaming industry.
