* Well, we've never been first to market in any generation. We weren't first when we debuted the original PlayStation. We weren't first with PlayStation 2.
It ultimately came down to the system and what consumers preferred. At the end of the day, what you do in the first year, and whether you do 6 or 10 million units does not determine whether you're successful or not. We're looking to sell 100 million-plus worldwide. We're looking to sell 50 million plus in North America.
So, if a competitor gets to 6 to 10 million worldwide, I would not consider that to be a significant advantage or a significant disadvantage as far as we're concerned.

* Right. There's no question they have a higher pain tolerance. I think most companies, if they'd lost the billions that Microsoft has lost on the Xbox, would question whether or not they belong in the business. Obviously, they have a different standard of success.

* Last time around, your company had several exclusives on the Grand Theft Auto franchise, which many folks feel was the killer app for the PS2. You're not going to have that advantage this time around. How much does that hurt you?
* There's no question that having the Grand Theft Auto franchise helped us a lot and helped us sell some units, but I don't think the battle would be any different with or without Grand Theft Auto.
If you look at our first-party library and the franchises that we've brought to market over the course of PlayStation 2, we have a very formidable first-party library of exclusive software that will help define us.
The days of locking up exclusive content from a third party and having that be key to your strategy is really a dangerous road to go down because I think with the cost of development, not many developers can afford to do exclusivity. So, really what defines the uniqueness of a platform from a software standpoint are the offerings that you have from first party.

فرض کنید دارین بازی میکنین یه مهمون بیاد خونتون تو اتاق یا جایی که دارین بازی میکنین بنده خدا میگه این بابا قاطی کرده حالا اگر هم تیکن باشه که با یه ضربه رو طرف حالشو استاد میکنین
 
1UP یه مقاله نوشته و تحلیل کرده که Assassin's Creed برای 360 هم میاد.در اول مقاله نوشته که یه منبع نزدیک به UbiSoft این رو اعلام کرده بعد گفته که توی GDC گفته شده بوده که برای 360 و PC و PSP هم میاد.بعدش گفته که با UbiSoft تماس گرفته و پرسیده که انحصارا برای PS3 میاد و اونا جواب دادن : فعلا اعلام شده برای PS3 میاد. و چند جور دلیل و مدرک دیگه.حالا ببینیم چی میشه...

THQ اعلام کرده که یه نسخه ی دمو از بازی رو آماده کرده که برای 1 ام آگوست روی Xbox Live MarketPlace قرارش میده!خود بازی هم برای 29 ام آگوست میاد.گفته شده کسایی که از اینترنت استفاده نمی کنن هم می تونن از طریق DVD مجله ی رسمی Xbox به این دمو دست پیدا کنن.

اولين لوحهای فشرده دی وی دی بلو - ری (Blu-ray) ساخت شرکت سونی، وارد بازار آمريکا شده است.
قرار است اولين سری دستگاههای پخش دی وی دی بلو ری، 25 ژوئن وارد بازار شود.

به گزارش بخش خبر شبكه فن آوري اطلاعات ايران، از بی بی سی، آغاز فروش عمومی اين تجهيزات نشانه ای از شروع اصلی نبرد قالب های دی وی دی ميان اچ دی - دی وی دی، قالب ابداعی توشيبا و بلو - ری (Blu-ray) ساخت شرکت سونی است.

قالب های تازه می توانند حجم بيشتری از داده ها را در خود جای دهند. اين مشخصه خصوصا برای پخش فيلم های ويديويی وضوح بالا بسيار مهم است.

هر دو فناوری برای نگارش اطلاعات از ليزر آبی استفاده می کنند. اين نوع ليزر دارای طول موج کوتاهتری است و بنابر اين می توان داده های بيشتری را بوسيله آن ثبت کرد.

يک لوح بلو - ری می تواند تا ۵۰ گيگا بايت را در خود جای دهد حال آنکه قالب اچ دی - دی وی دی توشيبا قابليت حفظ ۳۰ گيگا بايت را دارد. دی وی دی های فعلی تنها می توانند کمتر از ۵ گيگا بايت را در خود جای دهند.

وجود دو قالب دی وی دی در بازار استوديوهای فيلمسازی در هاليوود را تحت تاثير قرار داده است.

شرکت هايی نظير ديزنی و فاکس قرن بيستم طرف سونی را گرفته اند اما يونيورسال از قالب اچ دی - دی وی دی حمايت می کند. شرکت برادران وارنر و واياکوم گفته اند از هر دو سيستم پشتيبانی می کنند.

بسياری از مردم رقابت بين اين دو تکنولوژی را مانند رقابت بين ويديوهای "وی اچ اس" و "بتا ماکس" در دهه 80 می دانند. در آن رقابت، سونی بازار را به شرکت جی وی سی واگذار کرد

Now it can be told! Assassin's Creed, which was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive, is... not! When it was shown at the Tokyo Game Show in September last year, the game was positioned as a PS3 title. But at the Game Developer's Conference held in March, Assassin's Creed was hyped as a PS3 and Xbox 360 title. Then at the E3 2006 last June it was a PS3 exclusive all over again. Which is which?

A leaked internal Ubisoft memo on its upcoming list of games classified Assassin's Creed as a multi-platform game. This tell-tale list was supposedly certified "100% legit" by the company's release schedule plans. Sources close to Ubisoft said the game will definitely be on Xbox 360 although officially the company denies this.

The question is, why is Ubisoft taking the 5th amendment on this? The possible short answer is...could be a contract thing with Sony. Ubisoft may have intended Assassin's Creed to be a multi-platform title from the start but sold the rights to Sony to announce (just announce) the game as an exclusive for the press mileage for its upcoming PS3. It's supposedly a win-win situation for both parties. Wait, since Assassin's Creed is coming to Xbox 360, make that a win-win-win proposition.
