بالاخره Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag توسط Ubisoft تایید شد.
سرپرست نویسندگان داستان Assassin's Creed: Revelations نویسنده اصلی Assassin’s Creed IV می باشد.
بازی در قرن 18 رخ می دهد و داستان Edward Kenway پدر Haytham Kenway را روایت می کند که یک دزد دریایی است.
محل بازی Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag اینبار در کارائیب، در جزایر متعدد از جمله جامائیکا، کوبا و باهاما خواهد بود.
حدود 50 درصد بازی در دریا اتفاق خواهد افتاد و نبر دریایی نقش مهمی را در ان ایفا می کند و شما قادر به حمل 4 تفنگ و دو شمشیر خواهید بود.
سیستم مبارزات بازی نیز بهبود نسبی داشته است و تمرکز بر روی مخفی کاری نیز بیشتر شده است.
قابلیت شکار ابزیان غول پیکار و مبارزه زیر دریا با کوسه و پیدا کردن گنج هایی که در دریا هستند از قابلیت های هستند که به این نسخه اضافه شده است.
