Tango Gameworks and Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within is full of antagonists who are all creatively designed and aesthetically diverse. The Evil Within's survival horror leans into grotesque, gory frights with striking imagery and psychological tendencies. While its sequel installment released back in 2017, The Evil Within's franchise is still beloved by horror fans.
Dead by Daylight's announcement of Ringu being added to its abundant list of horror franchise crossovers is exciting, but there is still potential for many more remarkable horror franchises to make their debut as well. Between The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2, there are a couple of exceptional antagonists that would be uniquely perfect for Dead by Daylight without stepping on the toes of its current character roster.
The Keeper could instead be a DLC skin cosmetic superimposed onto the Trapper, with reskinned and repurposed wire traps in place of bear traps. The Evil Within 2 features a haunting onryō entity named Anima who wails and can pass through walls and other structures. Unfortunately, Anima would be far too similar to either the Spirit or the Nurse from Dead by Daylight and would not have unique enough abilities to be added as her own character. Rather, Anima could be offered in a The Evil Within crossover DLC as skins for either the Nurse or the Spirit.

7. The Villagers - The Evil Within
Although at first glance the regular enemies of The Evil Within - deformed, zombie-like villagers who torment Sebastian on his nightmarish journey - could be perceived as being simple Ganados rip-offs, the reason for their monstrous appearance is actually rooted in a traumatic story twist.
Everything that happens in the title's world is a result of Ruvik, a psychopathic serial killer, letting his twisted subconscious go wild to conjure up a horrific hellscape, and these deformed enemies represent a group from his past.
As a child, Ruvik and his sister were caught in a barn that was burned down by a nearby farmer, with the latter dying and the forming having every inch of his body scorched as a result. Ruvik relives this traumatic moment by bringing the villagers to life to haunt Sebastian, with their twisted, inhuman appearance reflecting the way he saw his attackers as inherently evil beings, rather than bad people.
While they look like generic zombies then, they're actually how the villagers were seen in the antagonist's nightmares, brought to life to haunt yours.

4. The Evil Within - The Assignment
This was the first DLC for The Evil Within, being episode one of a two-parter with the following part being The Consequence. Set prior to and concurrent with the events of the game proper, this story follows Juli Kidman and shows what she was out and about doing after being separated from the others.
She wasn’t having a good time, that’s for sure. With previously seen enemies including the Shade and the Haunted knocking about, the last thing Kidman needed was for another disgusting monster to be added to the mix - so of course they had to come up with Cadavers!
With the same deadly environment type as the main game and enemies both new and old, this makes for an equally terrifying addition to the canon. Like a few others on this list, this DLC differs in gameplay style to its main game counterpart. Kidman is unarmed, relying on stealth to survive as she is equipped only with a flashlight.
It adds an extra dimension to what we’ve already experienced, having the opportunity to play as Kidman and see what was previously a mystery
