Shinji Mikami, who directed the first Evil Within and produced the second, worked on many of the best Resident Evil games, as well as God Hand and Vanquish. The Evil Within 2 moves away from the pure survival horror of the first game in favor of a more open world full of grotesque and sometimes stomach-churning sights. This psychological horror game tries to scare you in ways other than just by jumping out at you. In fact, Shinji Mikami says that the “casual” setting is the best way to play The Evil Within 2.
No matter your difficulty level, the game is always challenging, often exciting, and ambitious. Of course, you can also check out 2014 original if you want something more traditional.
