Where many western games yearn to be seen as the height of sophistication, craving the critical kudos of an HBO drama, Bayonetta 3 stands defiant in its absurdity. Like its predecessors, this is destined to go down as a cult classic – a dizzying dance of demon-dicing delight. Its crude, whiplash-inducing narrative means it certainly won’t be for everyone, but the best things in life rarely are.

Bayonetta 3 is a brilliant feat of video game design. It makes a commitment to absurdity from its very start, and makes that commitment its greatest strength. The Demon Slave abilities give us the largest-scale battles in the franchise, and the introduction of Viola is like an homage to the purest hack and slash games of the past. Everything about this title screams passion, competence and personality.

Whether or not you enjoy this game is dependent on what you’re expecting from it. In the world of hypersexual, campy, insane action games, this sets a new standard. Every successive boss fight raises the bar, the action is always intense, and it oozes charm. There’s more move variety, the characters are beautiful, and the tone is impossibly over the top. If you’ve bounced off of Bayonetta games before, I can’t promise this time will be different. The pacing and core gameplay loop remain largely intact. But for fans of the franchise, Bayonetta 3 is easily as good as it gets. If you loved the first two games, you’ve got to check out this one.

The Witch of Umbra is back, and in a way where she looks spectacular, intense, and very entertaining, but at other times, its game encounters both visual and performance problems that detract from the experience. Fortunately, in its overall execution, Bayonetta 3 is a shining example that, when they put their minds to it, PlatinumGames can still make outstanding games.

Bayonetta 3 is an experience filled with a constant feeling of surprise, quality of life add-ons, dynamic and electrifying action and an epic story. Though it lacks visual refinement, the end result is a must-play for fans of the series. Although unfortunately there is still male gaze imprinted on the game, being a woman and playing with such powerful and fun characters such as Bayonetta, Viola and Jeanne is a huge joy.

من ۳ مرحله اولشو بازی کردم .به عنوان یه یوزر ps5 خب بازی برام از نظر گرافیکی توی ذوق میزنه ولی فوق العاده بازی حماسی شروع میشه و موسیقی به شدت جذابی داره وصدا گذاری شخصیت بایونتا هم عالی هست با توجه به حاشیه هایی هم که بوجود آمده بود‌. بازی تا الان کوچکترین افت فریمی نداشته و بسیار بهینه هستش .گیم پلی هم که نیاز به تعریف نداره

منم یکی دوتا از video review ها رو دیدم و در کل به نظر میاد یکی از بازی های امسال باشه.

چیزی که خوشحالم میکنه اینه که از نظر گیم پلی واقعا سنگ تموم گذاشتن و ایده های جدید عالی پیاده شدن.

persona 5, bayo 3 و بزودی fire emblem و zelda و از همه مهمتر silksong. واقعا لازمه که یه سویچ بگیرم الان ولی وقت بازی کردن نیست به اون صورت. از اونطرف میترسم من سویچ بگیرم بعد نینتندو سویچ پرو معرفی کنه

Platinum Games has long been looked at as a leader in the character action genre, and Bayonetta 3 is a prime example of why. It’s fast, reflex intensive, and features challenging combat that allows for a ton of creativity and expression when it comes to the ways in which you’re able to dispatch your enemies. Both its story and its performance on the Switch are less than ideal, but neither are issues that are substantial enough to get in the way of its top-tier combat, out-of-this-world weapon variety, and inimitable style. This is a far more ambitious sequel than its more iterative predecessor, and that ambition more than pays off. The new Demon Slave summoning system and several other changes to how weapons work help reinvigorate what remains one of the best combat systems throughout all of video games.

Bayonetta 3 made a great comeback after a long break in the series and managed to become one of the best in the action genre. Its minor shortcomings can be ignored thanks to its innovations and fun gameplay.

Those diehards mentioned in the opener above will be happy to know that the level grading system is back, and locked to the higher difficulty setting, which ties into those that want to learn the intricate and subtly deep nature of things. For everyone else who’ll still be scratching their heads at the ludicrousness of it all, from go to whoa, at least you can rest easy on the idea that it’s okay to mash your way through here, and that for Bayonetta, this is all pretty standard stuff -- OTT served with a side of sass, sexuality and style.

Bayonetta 3 won’t be for everyone, and that’s OK. There’s room for all sorts of oddities in our modern gaming landscape. And if you’re willing to just sit back and be wowed by a mountain of manic mayhem, chances are you won’t regret the time you spend with Bayonetta in her multiverse of madness.

Platinum Games‘ return to form manages to deliver one of the most action-packed and over the top games of recent memory. Bayonetta's demon slaves enrich the already deep combat even further and are both fun to watch and control. Sure, the story is as convoluted and uninteresting as ever, not all of the game‘s many mechanics and set-pieces are as polished as the combat and the Switch‘s aging hardware doesn’t do the graphics any favors. But if you like your action games fast, fluid and completely bonkers, this is a tour de force that packs enough punch and content to be worth the asking price.

Overall, Bayonetta 3 delivers a frantically intense approach to “stylish combat”, with a complex and multi-layered combat system that has remained remarkably robust across each game in the series. While the presentation is hugely over the top, Bayonetta 3’s real worth is in how it plays and as such comes thoroughly recommended to anyone that can keep up.
