Sony's Reeves Lobs Leipzig Bomb
The SCEE prez promises "fireworks" at next month's GCDC.

July 20, 2007 - A quote from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe President and CEO David Reeves on UK gaming industry site MCV today set off a rush of rumors about what the company might announce at the GC Developers Conference in Leipzig, Germany, this August.
According to the blokes at MCV, Reeves acknowledges Sony's had a slow summer (think temporary PS3 price drops and slightly slimmer PSPs) but hints that the best announcements are yet to come.
"We prefer to make our big statements in Leipzig, it suits us much better," Reeves reportedly told MCV, apparently intimating that E3 is small schnitzel in comparison. "There will be absolute fireworks at peak, that I can promise you. We will be doing things no-one has seen yet for both PS3 and PSP."
Fireworks, eh? Does that mean more pricing announcements? New games? A PSP port of Boom Boom Rocket? We called a Sony rep for comment, but their lips are sealed. Stay tuned to IGN for full coverage of the upcoming Leipzig conference. We'll let you know if Sony's fireworks spark or fizzle.
