Multiplayer:
Confirmed and unconfirmed details in multiplayer for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Anything with a [C] before it means it has been made official by Infinity Ward that it will be in the game and anything with a [UC] before it means it unconfirmed as of now.

Classes:

[C] - Assault - Comes with assault rife that fires an intermediate round.

[C] - Spec Ops - Comes with a submachine gun that fires a pistol round.

[C] - Sniper - Comes with a sniper rifle that fires a full size round.

[C] - Heavy Gunner (Support) - Comes with a SAW that fires a full size round.

[C] - Demolitions (details of this class are unclear as of now)


Game Modes

[C] Team Deathmatch - Team based variant of Deathmatch.

[C] Deathmatch - Free for all killing mode.

[C] Capture the Flag - Team based variant. Grab the enemy flag and return it to your team's base to score a point.

[C] Headquarters - A base is randomly set up and a team must set up a radio there before the other one does. You must defend the radio and make sure the enemy doesn't destroy it. Every second you have the base controlled you get one point. Defenders have one life only why attackers have multiple.

[C] Search and Destroy - Place a radio in one of two locations and defend the area until time runs out. One life for each attacker and infinite lives for defenders. If all attackers are killed, the defenders win.

[C] *New* Sabotage - The objective of this game is to grab the bomb (which is in the middle of the map) and plant it in the enemy's base. Once it is planted, you must defend the area until the bomb explodes. If the other team successfully defuses it, they must run the bomb from where they defused it to the other base and plant it there. The bomb cannot be returned to the middle.

Create a Class

All of the gaining XP, completing Challenges, and leveling/ranking up unlocks different weapons, add-ons, weapon skins, and perks that you can now use to build your custom soldier.

Both existing and custom classes have the same options for building your character. I’ll describe this as if we were building a custom one. If you are making a new class, you will be able to give your class a specific name, and it will be available to you when you move from server to server, without having to build it over again. No word on how many different custom classes you can save, but some IW staff had several of them set up for when they play.

First, you select a single primary weapon, such as an smg or sniper rifle. To this you can add various attachments you’ve unlocked, such as different sights, silencers/suppressors, grenade launcher, grips/stocks, etc. You will also have the ability to apply a camo pattern to your weapon…some of the ones we saw were: Desert, Woodland, Gold, Tiger, Digital.

Next, you select your sidearm, such as the Desert Eagle, or the USP .45.

You are given frag grenades by default, so if you’re able to carry special grenades, you can select them now, from Stun, Smoke, and Flash-bang.

Finally, you select your perks. There are 3 categories, each with its own drop down list, with different perks in each list. The first category are more item-related, such as allowing you to carry C4, a UAV Jammer, or an RPG. The second and third categories are more character-related, giving abilities like more health, faster reloads, more endurance, etc. The default classes also have perks, drawn from the same lists, they are just pre-set for you.

As told to us by IW, a lot of planning/testing has gone on between the various classes, weapons, and perks to ensure that there’s lots of variety available, but that the classes are still balanced and some don’t rise above the others.

Ranking System

[C] Ranking system is military based and starts at the rank of Private. No other details are known at this time.


Points

Team Deathmatch:

[C] Headshots are +60 experience.
[C] Normal kills are +10 experience (this includes Last Stand kills).
[C] Assists are +5 experience.


Perks

[C] Last Stand - Pull out a pistol after you are downed to shoot your killer before you bleed out.

[C] Double Tap - Increase the rate of fire for your gun.

[C] Deep Impact - Increases penetration and damage of all weapons through walls or cover.

[C] Martyrdom - Drop a grenade just before you die to kill any nearby enemies.

[C] Eavesdrop - Allows you to listen in on enemy conversation within 30 meters (approximately 90 feet).

[C] Iron Lung - Increases the time you can hold your breathe while zooming in with a sniper.

[C] Extreme Conditioning - Allows you to sprint longer.

[C] Sleight of Hand - You can reload your gun faster.

[C] Juggernaut - Gives you extra health.

[C] Dead Silence - You make less noise as you move.

[C] Stopping Power - Bullets do more damage.

[C] RPG-7 - You will have an RPG-7 in the game.

[C] Special Grenades - You will be able to use special grenades in the game such as flash grenades.

[C] Grenade Launcher - Your assault rifle will come with an undermounted grenade launcher attachment (enabling this prevents you from further customizing your weapon).

[C] C4 - When enabled, you will have two C4's per spawn.

[C] UV Radar Jammer - You will not be detected on radar by firing or from radar in the sky.


Perk Groups
You can only have three perks enabled at one time. You can only choose one perk from each group. So that means you can have two perks from group one and one perk from group two.

Example: I want some serious firepower. So I will choose an RPG-7 from group one, stopping power from group two, and deep impact from group three.

You can change the perks for your character any time via soldier customization.

Group #1:

Take note that most of these weapons I have just spotted in videos of gameplay and may or may not be in the official game.

Since I had a lot of free time I decided to make this so people could just look to see what Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare might be like with a quick glance.
