Review: Just Cause 3 - You Blow Stuff Up, Just 'Cause You Can - The Games Cabin
90/100
Just Cause 3 is mayhem. It's mental. It goes above and beyond its predecessors in almost every aspect. The gameplay is a riot and there's a vast world to explore. It may not be as big as some had hoped, but it's packed full of stuff to do. Main missions, side missions, challenges, random encounters, and more. Flying around in the wingsuit is genuinely a thrill, so much so that you'll forget you can even drive a car.Avalanche has done a great job with Just Cause 3 and I feel confident enough to recommend it to any gamer who enjoys a bit of chaos in their open-world games. Just don't expect any Oscar-winning performances from the cast...

Just Cause 3 may not trump its predecessor in every way, but it does excel beyond Just Cause 2 in its sheer creative freedom. The new tools and tweaks to old ones work great, it’s just up to gamers to discover how best to use them. Having so many choices you lose track of them is one of the best things any game can offer, and Just Cause 3 does so in spades.

Just Cause 3 review: Explosive fun, but repetitive and hollow
70/100
From its intense firefights to its wanton destruction and carmageddon, Just Cause 3 has all the hallmarks of a classic action movie - it's just a shame the end result is more Van Damme in quality than vintage Schwarzenegger or Stallone.

There's a lot to do in Just Cause 3, it's just that doing it all isn't really that much fun. In fact it's probably a better game in retrospect than it is when you're playing it: freed from the controls and other issues, you'll remember it fondly. You'll also likely want to get back to it: there's a moreish, Ubisoft-style vibe here that encourages repeated playing. Those of you that wanted Just Cause 2 Part 2 will love what's on offer, but it all feels lesser than the sum of its parts.

'Just Cause 3' does a few things that are just ok, but it also does explosions and crazy physics on a big scale very well. By easing up on some of the restrictions typical to openworld games and dialing up Rico's special abilities, 'Just Cause 3' survives its early rough opening to become a worthy diversion for many and an endless playground for others.
