Easy Allies - Michael Damiani - 9.5/10

Areajugones - Ismael Moreno - Spanish - 9 / 10.0
Although the precedent set by the first game was remarkable, Ni no Kuni II manages to position itself as a worthy continuation of what is already one of the most interesting sagas of the current role playing scene. Level-5 has created a game that stands out from the competition with its own personality. For the lovers of Studio Ghibli, here you will find a jewel to continue dreaming about.

Attack of the Fanboy - William Schwartz - 4.5 / 5 stars
A great cast of characters and a wonderful story, it's tough not to fall in love with Ni No Kuni 2. If you're looking for a world to get lost in this is a game that will provide you with many hours of enjoyment, amazing you at every turn with a barrage of beautiful imagery, incredible music, and gameplay to match.

CGMagazine - Derek Heemsbergen - 9.5 / 10.0
One of the best JRPGs released in ages, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is as charming as it is intricate, full of expressive characters and addictive gameplay systems that mesh together in perfect harmony.

COGconnected - Judi Azmand - 88 / 100
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a sensational, well-crafted, and loveable game.

Destructoid - Chris Carter - 7.5 / 10.0
Level-5 is more than capable of dumping out healthy portions of its secret sauce on top of its games, but the combat of Ni no Kuni II and its attempt to do so many different things can hold it back. From the first hour I was mesmerized and captivated, willing to see its tale through until the end. While it does fall into some genre trappings and doesn't feel quite as epic in scale compared to the first, Level-5 has the uncanny ability to keep the memory and magic of the JRPG alive.

Digitally Downloaded - Matt Sainsbury - 4.5 / 5 stars
're two (main) games in now, and on the strength and consistency of these two I think it's safe to say that Ni No Kuni has every chance to become a major JRPG franchise that will last into the very long term.

DualShockers - Azario Lopez - 10 / 10.0
By setting the bar higher with its meaningful side-quests and multiple systems executed perfectly, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is paving the way for future JRPG titles to build upon. I loved every moment of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom and could easily recommend it as an entry point to the genre for newcomers as well as longtime fans of the genre. Developer Level-5 has truly outdone themselves with this one and I would just like to say to them, thank you for the adventure.

Easy Allies - Michael Damiani - 9.5 / 10.0
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom outclasses its predecessor in just about every way to earn its happily ever after.

EGM - Ray Carsillo - 8.5 / 10.0
Ni No Kuni II is full of some tremendously creative decisions that make this unlike many other Japanese RPGs, as well as a clear step above an already good game in the original Ni No Kuni. However, some additions like the RTS elements left me scratching my head. Despite this, Ni No Kuni II tells a beautiful story that's set in an even more beautiful world, and should be enjoyed by most JRPG fans.

Game Informer - Joe Juba - 8 / 10.0
Plenty of short- and long-term goals keep you invested, and you are thrown into the action relatively quickly. Watching your kingdom grow and flourish is the biggest draw, though the battles also provide simple fun

GameSkinny - Unknown - 8 / 10 stars
Overall, Ni No Kuni 2 accomplishes what it sets out to do: It's a fun but deep fantasy world with heroes who remind us there is good in the world and villains who remind us that sometimes the worst-seeming people are just… misguided.

GameSpew - Kim Snaith - 80%
Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is a wholesome, delightful adventure that any fan of traditional JRPGs would be wise to jump into.

GameSpot - Peter Brown - 8 / 10
Ni No Kuni 2's adorable exterior masks the impressive RPG within.

GamesRadar+ - Rachel Weber - 4.5 / 5 stars
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is the RPG adventure that's like shooting sunshine right into your veins. So clear your calendar, because Level-5 is about fill it with monsters, magic, and city management.

GamingBolt - Shubhankar Parijat - 9 / 10.0
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a charming and beautiful game that is just as much fun to play as it is to look at.

GamingTrend - Calvin Neill Trager - 95 / 100
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is this perfect execution of an RPG that I haven't experienced in a long time. It's grand in its vision and, while simple in the execution, the execution it delivers is nearly flawless nonetheless. There are moments where I wish the game paced itself better, toned down the threatening music, or attempted to tug at my heart a bit more, but the game was fun and charming and worthy of praise. Buy this game.

GaminGuardian - Alberto Morales Palencia - Spanish - 8.9 / 10.0
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a fantastic JRPG with a lot of gameplay improvements in comparison with the first Ni No Kuni. Also, the lovely and colorful graphic style and the fantastic soundtrack, make of this experience a wonderful journey.

Geek Culture Podcast - Dean James - 9.5 / 10.0
With a cast of charming characters and captivating story that areinterwoven with downright fun gameplay, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is without a doubt going to be right in the thick of the Game of the Year races at the end of the year as one of the next modern classics.

Handsome Phantom - Dustin Furman - 9.5 / 10.0
Level 5 brings us a new classic JRPG

Hardcore Gamer - Chris Shive - 4.5 / 5.0
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is able to create a brand new world and adventure separate from Wrath of the White Witch, but is able to feel familiar enough where fans of the first game will feel right at home.

Hobby Consolas - David Martinez - Spanish - 94 / 100
Ni No Kuni II is a masterpiece combination of Ghibli style graphics, Joe Hisaishi music works and classic J-RPG gameplay (Level-5 signature). We love it´s colorful characters, moving storyline and varied game styles.

IGN - Cam Shea - 7.8 / 10.0
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom distinguishes itself from its predecessor by layering fast-paced, real-time combat and an engaging kingdom building system atop more traditional RPG systems and quests. It's a shame it delivers so few truly memorable characters and restricts so much of its storytelling to text on screen, but by the end of Ni No Kuni 2 the broader themes certainly resonate and the 40+ hour journey has been well worth it.

Just Push Start - Mark Fajardo - 9.5 / 10.0
Much like the first game, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is easily one of the best games out in 2018 and a strong contender for Game of the Year. Not only is it an improvement over the predecessor, it stands out among other recent JRPGs. From an amazing and intriguing coming-of-age story, to a battle system that is simple and fun, giving players plenty to experience. In so many ways Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a must for fans and newcomers alike.

Kotaku - Jason Schreier - No Verdict
Ni no Kuni II is a very good role-playing game, one full of satisfying mechanics and fun battles

PC Gamer - Austin Wood - 90 / 100
Without Evermore, Ni No Kuni 2 would have been good. Because of it, it's one of the best JRPGs on PC.

PlayStation Universe - Garri Bagdasarov - 9.5 / 10.0
Ni No Kuni 3: Revenant Kingdom is pure greatness. Everything it does it does at the highest level. RPG fans owe it to themselves to experience this gem. Easily one of the best games of this generation.

Polygon - Cameron Kunzelman - 9 / 10.0
Ni no Kuni 2 aims for a lot of different targets: world-spanning story, management sim, recruitment game and solid combat experience. Against all odds, it manages to hit them all in a way that very few games in its genre can manage.

PowerUp! - Matthew Manchester - 9 / 10.0
If you're a fan of the first title you won't be disappointed with Ni No Kuni 2. Although it mostly feels like an entirely new game, it is for the better.

Press Start - Josh Lack - 9 / 10
Ni No Kuni 2 is a wholesome adventure that improves on the first game. New additions like the kingdom building adds another to the franchise. The art design and visuals are some of the best on the PS4 and the combat and exploration are both fun and engaging.

PSX Brasil - Júlio César Souza Pires - Portuguese - 97 / 100
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is an animated masterpiece that deserves to be played. Besides the novelties in the gameplay, it also enhances all the aspects of its predecessor, and can be considered one of the best PlayStation 4 games released so far.

Rice Digital - Mitch Jay - 5 / 5 stars
Revenant Kingdom is an instant classic.

RPG Site - Zack Reese - 9 / 10
Thanks to its heartwarming characters, whimsical soundtrack, and gorgeous visuals that are simply a treat to look at, there is much to appreciate in this sequel.

The Outerhaven Productions - Keith Mitchell - 4.5 / 5 stars
Ni no Kuni II is easily one of the best RPGs on the PS4 and PC. A masterpiece that needs to be played by everyone, regardless if you like RPGs or not.

Twinfinite - Alex Gibson - 5 / 5.0
None of the shortcomings, however, are enough to sour what is ultimately an astonishing experience. Once again, Level-5 has risen to the top of a previously floundering but increasingly revitalized genre.

USgamer - Kat Bailey - 3.5 / 5 stars
Ni No Kuni 2 is a sweet-tempered and attractive RPG with a strong castle-building mechanic, but it's dragged down by a jarringly ugly overworld, mandatory fetch quests, and a lot of padding. It's a pleasant throwback for fans of the genre, but it ultimately fails to meet the high bar set by other big-budget JRPGs.
