Company insiders and Wzor have confirmed that 7100 is the official Windows 7 RC build.
7100.0.winmain_win7rc.090421-1700 was compiled on Tuesday and has reportedly been handed out to OEM partners and TAP gold customers. Earlier this month we reported that build 7077 had leaked online and that Microsoft were pushing towards a 7100 RC release.
Microsoft recently published details about a public RC due for May 5th. We expect MSDN/TechNet customers to receive the bits within the next week if the company is still targeting May 5th.
Note: These keys will only work if you install the "Ultimate" edition!
To upgrade from beta you need to:
- Extract the .iso contents to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from (a bootable flash drive
or a directory on any partition on the machine running the old build).
- Browse to the sources directory.
- Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.
- Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build. For example, change 7100 to 7000.
- Save the file in place with the same name.
- Run setup.exe like you would normally and the version check will be bypassed.

Control hard disk temperature in real-time. HDD Temperature helps you prevent hard drive failures and associated data loss by giving an early warning about the disks overheating or being too cold. In case of a critical overheat, HDD Temperature can shut down the PC, while moderate overheating is dealt with email alerts. Get extended information about the disk, and see basic disk health statistics for all types of hard drives including IDE/PATA, SATA, SCSI, and USB disks.
HDD Temperature incorporates the results of researches in hard drive reliability, adding lower temperature thresholds to warn about disks being too cool as well as too hot. Statistically, newer hard drives are more sensitive to working temperatures being too low while older disks are more susceptible to higher working temperatures. HDD Temperature now protects against both temperature extremes.
Keep information safe and prevent data loss by controlling your disks' temperature and health status. HDD Temperature gathers and reports general health information of your hard disk, reporting possible issues well ahead of time. In case of a severely used disk with higher chances of failure, HDD Temperature advises about a replacement.
